Software Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our Technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a web software that meet our clients’ needs. The ideal candidate should have experience in Python, React, web development, AWS, and PostgreSQL.

This job is not a fully remote position. We value collaboration and communication among our team members, so we expect the developer to work in our office in Draper, Utah a minimum of 3 days a week. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and develop software solutions that meet business requirements
• Design, develop, and implement software solutions using Python, React, and other web development tools
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code
• Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality
• Develop and maintain applications on AWS platform
• Resolve issues and/or identify innovative solutions to complex and critically sensitive issues affecting Scalar’s clients
• Manage and maintain database systems using PostgreSQL
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues
• Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• At least 2-3 years of professional experience in software development
• Strong proficiency in Python and React
• Experience in web development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript
• Familiarity with AWS services such as API Gateway, S3, Lambda, and CloudFront
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
• Ability to independently learn and solve complex, ambiguous problems with minimal supervision
