We are seeking a Business Development Associate to join Scalar’s sales team. This position works with
the visionaries, advisors, and investors behind bold and innovative companies. The successful
candidate will join a fast paced team and be responsible for generating leads and new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities*
- Own top of funnel sales efforts including initial outreach and follow-ups
- Execute sales sequences and strategic marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with, support, and learn from senior sales professionals to close new opportunities
- Develop a deep understanding of our offerings and the business valuation industry
- Work with the Sales Ops team on list building, qualifying, and engaging with prospects
Markers of an Ideal Candidate
- 1 to 2 years SDR/BDR experience, or past valuation/consulting experience that included sales
- Track record of building pipeline and consistently setting meetings with decision makers
- Grit and ambition. Motivated to hit goals and overcome challenges
- Maintains excellent attention to detail while working at a rapid pace
- Familiarity with sales tools (CRM, sales enablement, LinkedIn). Pitchbook/CapIQ familiarity is a plus
- Conversational in the workings of startups, venture capital, and private equity.

- We value collaboration and communication, and working in-office is expected 3 or more days/week
