This individual will work directly with Scalar’s CEO across strategic initiatives, business development, talent acquisition, AI initiatives, client relationships, strategic partnerships, potential acquisitions, and other high-priority projects across the firm.

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional who wants broad exposure to the operations, growth, and strategic decision-making of a rapidly growing professional services and technology firm. The Associate will work closely with the CEO and other members of Scalar’s leadership team to help identify opportunities, solve problems, and move important initiatives from concept through execution.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly organized, AI-native, comfortable with ambiguity, and capable of moving quickly between very different projects and priorities. This role requires someone who takes ownership, exercises good judgment, and is comfortable operating with a high degree of independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with the CEO to develop and execute strategic initiatives and other high-priority projects across the firm.
  • Lead and support special projects focused on Scalar’s growth, operations, technology, and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Support talent acquisition across all markets and geographies where Scalar recruits, including sourcing, evaluating, and helping recruit high-performing professionals.
  • Oversee reporting and analytics associated with recruiting and talent, including Scalar’s candidate scoring and evaluation processes.
  • Accompany the CEO to meetings with clients, prospective clients, investors, strategic partners, and other key relationships.
  • Assist with high-level business development initiatives, including market and prospect research, meeting preparation, follow-up, relationship management, and strategic opportunities.
  • Support the evaluation and execution of strategic partnerships, new markets, new service offerings, and potential acquisitions.
  • Conduct research and analysis on companies, industries, markets, competitors, and other topics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Leverage multiple large language models and other AI tools to improve research, analysis, recruiting, business development, communication, and internal workflows.
  • Identify and help implement new opportunities to deploy AI and other technologies across Scalar to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making.
  • Work cross-functionally with Scalar’s valuation, sales, technology, operations, and leadership teams to execute firmwide priorities.
  • Develop presentations, analyses, reports, and other materials for the CEO and other members of Scalar’s leadership team.
  • Take ownership of projects with limited oversight and be accountable for driving initiatives from concept through completion.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.
  • AI-native, with demonstrated proficiency working across multiple leading LLMs and AI tools and an ability to determine which tools are best suited for different tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand new industries, companies, and business challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with limited oversight.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take ownership, identify problems, and develop solutions without waiting for detailed direction.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in business, finance, technology, and artificial intelligence.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment where responsibilities and priorities may change quickly.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for client meetings, recruiting, firm events, and other business needs.
